Time to let your sanctified imagination to peer into Simeon's world and how the Lord moved in his ordinary man's life. Let us first examine who this Simeon is and his position in the Kingdom of God. Simeon in the Greek language, Simon in the Hebrew language. So, your ordinary Godly man's name means: ''harkening''1 or announcing. Again, our good God Almighty is harkening or announcing to all who this Jesus is. The Lord does not hide His purpose in the back of a cave or in darkness. If anyone wants to know the truth, they can find it. My purpose for this sermon is to help you read and know the truth. Many today want to be told what to believe. They never research spiritual things for their own surety.

Simeon is an ordinary man and yet we see he had a relationship with God. Step into this vision with me. As you know the Lord in His Word tells us the Lord speaks to each of us. Jesus said His sheep know His voice. Do not take my word for this let us open our bibles. First, I want you to grab a cup of coffee or tea and your Bible and let us open to the Book of John. Let us sit at the table and notice a nice small fire in the fireplace. If you want sugar or creamers in your coffee, then place them on your table first. This is just me and I place my sweetened Italian creamer in my cup first and then add coffee. For me I must have decaf coffee, or my hands will be shaking if I have any caffeine. Let us turn just enough lights on to read our Bibles. Or if in your vision you have those old fashion latrines, where you lift the glass and light the oil-soaked wick. Let us sit together and enjoy our sweet fellowship with our Lord.
