Introduction:
Upon entering a little country store, the stranger noticed a sign warning, ''Danger! Beware of dog!'' posted on the glass door. Inside, he noticed a harmless old hound dog asleep on the floor beside the cash register.

''Is that the dog folks are supposed to beware of?'' he asked the owner.

''Yep, that's him,'' came the reply.

The stranger couldn't help but be amused. ''That certainly doesn't look like a dangerous dog to me. Why in the world would you post that sign?''

''Because,'' the owner explained, ''Before I posted that sign, people kept tripping over him.''

We have come to the eighteenth chapter of Proverbs in our study. These are simple, but profound truths that God gives us to help us do the right things in life! We know that Solomon wrote most of them, to help Rehoboam, but sadly it did not take with his son! We can learn from them, and become the wiser as we study several of these wonderful truths this evening. We will start in verse 10, which refers to the Strong Tower of the Lord!

10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

Out Lord's name is a strong tower or defense. He is a safe haven for all of those who need help, safety, and protection. He will help you in your time of need! Flee to God, and draw nigh to Hm, and He will nigh to you! The word for tower is interesting. It carries the idea of

mig-dawl', mig-daw-law'

From H1431; a tower (from its size or height); by analogy a rostrum; figuratively a (pyramidal) bed of flowers: - castle, flower, pulpit, tower.

He is like a castle that is filled with flowers, and the aroma of sweetness! He will never let you down. He will always stand with you through the trials and storms of life!
