Every person in this sanctuary, and for that matter, on this earth has plenty to be thankful for. Not just during this time and season, but every day of our lives. Unfortunately, I believe that people have gotten to the point of thinking that whatever they want or desire in life will automatically come to them because it is the natural expectation.

We expect things to happen because we deserve them.
We expect things to happen because they're supposed to happen.
We expect things to happen because it's our right.
There is a problem with this line of thought because it causes one to buy into the mindset that the world revolves around them and everything is going to take place because they desire it. What we can never do is get to the point of thinking that there is a natural expectation that life will just roll out the red carpet to us. This is dangerous because now there is no reason to look to God for what He can bless them with but will cause them to look to themselves and others to give them what they want.

In the grand scheme of things, we should always remember that God is the One who is blessing us, keeping us, protecting us, and ensuring that our every need is met. We can't bank on another person to do that, but we can and should have the assurance that God is able to do exceeding and abundantly in our lives according to His promises and divine will. Therefore, we have reasons to thank God!!
