Sometimes we find ourselves in a position where our backs are up against a wall. It's a place where there are no turns, no avenues of escape, and no easy way out. We get there because we've exhausted all of our natural resources and can't seem to do anything else. We're attacked on a constant basis by the enemy and all he wants us to do is give up! The Lord never said that the Christian life would be an easy one, just a life that He would take care of all of our troubles.

When you think about deliverance, you think about being helped. The dictionary definition of deliverance is to be rescued from bondage or danger. In this society we live in, danger is literally all around us and has the propensity to put us in bondage. We can get bound up in people, places, material things, position, power, tradition, and even prosperity. We can get so caught up in wanting to do those things that they bind us up! Whatever is holding us down, whatever is keeping us down, and whatever may be keeping us away from the promises of God, we've got to know that deliverance is ours and we can be assured of ''The Deliverance of God''

When it looks like your back is up against a wall, don't turn to the wall, but rather, turn to God who is your deliverance.
When you've gone as far down as you can possibly go, don't turn around, but rather, turn to God who is your deliverance.
When it seems like life has gotten on your last nerve and you feel like your next step is a nervous breakdown, don't turn to the doctor, but rather, turn to Doctor Jesus who is your deliverer.

Our text is found in the Book of Obadiah. His name means ''one who worships God'' and his ministry was in place to prophesy to the enemies of the people of God.
