There are many things that can be said about God and His ability and power. The Bible declares for us that it was God that created all things. Genesis 1:1 tells us, ''In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.'' This one passage of Scripture sums up for us that power begins and ends with God! When you really think about and begin to understand the awesome power of God, you can know that if He's able to do those things in the world, He can also do awesome things in your life. It is because of this power that we're able to know that He is the one we need to know and depend on throughout our lives. Let's talk about The Awesome Power of God!

We find ourselves in the Book of Psalms. Consisting of 150 divisions or numbers, it is the largest book in the Bible. It's broken down into five divisions, each division corresponding with a book from the Pentateuch (the first five books of the Bible).

Division I contain Psalms 1-41 and is known as the Genesis Psalms. It begins with a blessing on man and ends with a benediction and a double Amen.

Division II contains Psalms 42-72 and is known as the Exodus Psalms. The central theme here concerns Israel's ruin, Redeemer, and redemption.

Division III contains Psalms 73-89 and is known as the Leviticus Psalms. This division deals with the sanctuary and its purpose concerning God and man.

Division IV contains Psalms 90-106 and is known as the Numbers Psalms. This division deals with Israel, the Gentiles on earth, and the understanding that man has no hope apart from God.

And Division V contains Psalms 107-150 and is known as the Deuteronomy Psalms. This division concerns God and His Word, and shows all the blessings of man, Israel, the sanctuary, of the earth and men, are based on obedience to the Word of God.
