Prayer and Praise Can Get You Through
Dr. Darrow Perkins
Acts 16:23-26
INTRODUCTION: It appears to me sometimes that when trouble strikes in the lives of people, and especially people who take on the title of Christian that they forget about prayer and praise. I make this statement because in my few days on this earth, I've talked with people who were going through some things and when I asked them if they've prayed about it, the answer has been no in most cases. I know that when tragedy strikes, that becomes the opportunity for those who don't pray on a regular basis to call upon God to bail them out. When terrorists attacked the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, this nation was called to pray to get us through. But I submit to you today that we don't need to wait for tragedy to strike in order for us to pray and see what God can do! Our responsibility is to pray at all times and watch God do awesome things in our lives on a daily basis. You see, if we're in prayer constantly and see God doing things in our lives daily, when tragedy strikes, we're already accustomed to praying and anticipating God to come through for us. It's not about the size of the situation, it's about the size of our God to handle that or any situation. When trouble shows up in your life, know that Prayer and Praise can get you through.

Jesus told His disciples after His resurrection not to leave Jerusalem but wait for the promise of the Father. The promise was the arrival of the Holy Ghost in their lives.
