Everybody likes to receive the good things they have coming to them. No matter what it may be, we all want to get what's ours. When we know what has been promised to us, or what we have that's coming our way, we will normally take special steps or make special preparation to ensure we get what's coming to us. For example, if someone calls you on the phone and tell you they have a gift for you, you might drive across town to get that gift. Or maybe you've been promised something that will be given to you after a significant accomplishment (i.e. high school/college graduation, retirement gift, or a notable achievement), you will do what you have to in order to get what's been promised to you.

God is in the blessing business and He's been in this business since before man's creation. Just as long has He's been blessing, the devil has been trying to take those blessings from us. Knowing that God loves us, cares for us, and has our best interest in mind, ''Don't Let Nobody Take Your Blessing!''

Our text is found in the Book of Genesis or the Book of Beginnings. Moses, our writer or scribe is providing the children of Israel with an accounting of their history, for them to past down through the generations. If we know where we've been, it helps to get where we're going! Moses helps us to understand:
Who was in the beginning; (God)
How we came to be; (Created by God)
The fall of man; (Sinned against God) and,
That a Messiah was needed and prophesied to come. (Sent by God)
