Don't Give Up!
Dr. Darrow Perkins
Genesis 32:24-30
Have you ever felt like just giving up? You've found yourself in a situation where it seems like nothing you do will work to your benefit and everything you try just ain't working, so you feel like just quitting. Do you ever feel like it's just you against the world and it's seems like all the odds are stacked against you? It seems like trouble is on every side, it's pressing up against you, it keeps coming at you, it keeps piling up on you and just when it seems like you've found light at the end of the tunnel, life kicks in again and here comes another situation. Having done so for some time, you feel like giving up. You begin talking to yourself and telling yourself, ''Why do I keep putting up with this, why do I keep trying, why do I keep giving my all and nothing seems to work?'' I think one of the questions we should probably ask the Lord for our understanding is, ''Lord, what are you trying to show me, what are you trying to reveal to me, what are you preparing me for?'' We can be encouraged to know that what's there in front of you is there because (1) God has allowed it; and (2) He won't put more on you than you can handle. Keep in mind that the devil doesn't want you to be blessed, doesn't want you to be successful, doesn't want you to excel at anything and because of that, he wants to do everything he can to make you quit or give up. The Bible teaches us in John 10:10, ''The thief cometh not but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy...'' His mission is to come and wreak havoc on your life, to make you feel like you can't make it, to give you the impression that what you're going through is not worth it, so he wants you to give up. If you do so, you won't be in a position to get the blessing that connected to your current situation. Let me ask a few questions;
