Our world is full of distractions and things that will take our focus off of what God deems important. Fellowship in the church is important and society will tell you that watching a sporting event or going to brunch with friends on Sunday is acceptable. This type of distraction can lead to destruction as one may think that since it's alright to miss one Sunday, it's alright for me to miss all Sundays. This type of thinking is a distraction as it takes our focus off of what God wants us to do. Hebrews 10:25 tells us to ''not forsake the assembling of ourselves together...''

The devil wants us to keep our focus off of God and focus on what the world has to offer. Some slogans say, ''If it feels good, do it!'' or ''If it doesn't hurt anyone, it's OK.'' These are words of deceit which can cause us to become distracted. For example, you can...

Look at a person's checkbook register and determine their priorities.
Look at where a person's emphasis is and you're able to determine their priorities.
Look where a person spends most of their time and determine their priorities.

The Apostle Peter is a prime example of what happens when we become distracted and take our focus off the Lord. As long as he kept his eyes on Jesus, he was able to walk on the water and make his way towards Jesus, but when he began to look at what the world had to offer, what the world has made available, what the world was trying to get him to take advantage of, like Peter, we'll find ourselves sinking and falling into a bottomless pit and only Jesus can come to our rescue. This deception leads to distractions and if we're not careful, distractions can lead to destruction. Don't Be Distracted!
