Genesis 8

Introduction

Welcome to Mission Hills for the fourth and final week of our message series on the story of Noah's ark. If you're just joining us, let me get you caught up real quick.

So far we've seen three \ big ideas about living faithfully. I'm just going to hit the highlights here, so if you want to unpack these ideas a little more, I encourage you to go back and listen to the other messages in this series. You can do that in the Mission Hills app, on YouTube or on our website.

First, we've seen that, as God's people, our faithfulness matters more than we think. Our faithfulness matters not just to us, but also to others around us.

Second, we've seen that how we view sin matters more than we think. It's impossible to live faithfully if thinking wrongly about sin. If we're looking out the window and saying ''their sin is a big deal'' but looking in the mirror and thinking ''my sin isn't a big deal''...we can't possibly live faithfully. Everyone's sin is serious business.

The third truth we've seen is that God never requires from us what He hasn't provided for us. Living faithfully isn't easy, but its always possible because God always provides what we need to be faithful.

Today we're going to talk about a fourth big idea that lays the foundation for living faithfully. And let me just tell you before we get started...you're not going to like it, ok? I don't like it and I don't know anyone else who does. You're not going to like it, but unless we grab hold of this idea, we're always going to fail at faithfulness. Let me show you what I'm talking about. Why don't you grab a bible and make your way to Genesis chapter 8.

Main Body

But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded. (Gen 8:1)

Ok, now this is actually they climax of the flood story and it ...
