Christmas and Chaos Go Together
In all of our beloved Christmas movies, we find chaos and confusion. There is an air loneliness, lostness, hopelessness, and helplessness, but ultimately the good prevails over the bad.
Charlie Brown had to fight through the blues of Christmas and the commercialism that prevailed. In the ''Christmas Carol'' we find Ebenezer Scrooge fighting the demons of a bad childhood before coming to grips with that past and finding the true meaning of Christmas. In the end, Charlie Brown found his answer from a verse in the bible Christmas was all about a son, who was a savior, the savior of the world.
In the movie ''It's a Wonderful Life'' we find George Bailey in the process of committing suicide, before being helped by his guardian angel. Ultimately he comes around and makes it through all the chaos of Christmas to gather around the Christmas tree singing Auld Lang Syne with his family and friends.
In the Chevy Chase movie ''National Lampoons Christmas Vacation'' has to face the chaos of a squirrel and Uncle Eddie, before eventually being able to enjoy the beauty of Christmas. In the movie ''A Christmas Carol'' Ralphie Parker wanted an ''official Red Ryder carbine action, 200-shot, range model air rifle with a compass in the stock and this thing that tells time.'' The family had to go through all kinds of chaos before coming together in the end and having a wonderful Christmas with each other.
