Introduction

1. We all know a term that we never even heard of just a few months ago and is now one that is known worldwide and one we will never forget, but one we would like to. That word is ''Coronavirus.'' I heard my parents talk many times about the Great Depression, but they never went through the social, personal, commercial isolation that we have. People could go out, but they couldn't work. Now, people can work, but they can't go out.

2. In these times, people honestly are not looking for a ''Ra ra go get 'em'' speech or more than just positive thinking platitudes. To be even more blunt, they want more than just another sermon. The number one thing people are looking for, hungry for, begging for, thirsting for, living for, even dying for is HOPE. Hope is not only one of the most powerful words in the English language, it truly is one of the most powerful forces in the world.

3. Winston Churchill recognized how powerful hope is. He was Prime Minister of England during probably the darkest hours in that nation's history during World War II. After the war was over, he was asked by a reporter what his country's greatest weapon had been against the powerful Nazi army. Without even pausing he said, ''It was what England's greatest weapon has always been - hope.''

4. I can say without deliberation, hesitation or equivocation that there has never been a greater time to celebrate Easter, nor has there ever been a greater Easter to celebrate. Why? Because if Easter is true, if Jesus is alive, if he was raised from the dead, then not only do we have hope, not only do we have the best hope, but we have the only hope for our past, our present, and our future. Only a risen lord can take care of yesterday, today and tomorrow.
