Jonah 4

Are you ready to dig into Jonah's story? This chapter is how the Lord is going to confront Jonah's issue of anger. Jonah's angry at the wrong things.

ARE YOU READY?

Jonah 4:1
But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he became angry.

Why is Jonah angry? The entire city of Nineveh repented! The entire city of Nineveh knows who Jonah is and they are experiencing a true Godly revival. But Jonah is mad at the fact God did not wipe them off the face of the Earth.

Many people today are mad at the wrong issue. They are not angry at sin they are angry at the person who sinned against them. WOW! Do you have anger issues and you blame it on your heritage? Many blame their anger issues on their childhood parent. Oh my!

Jonah's prophetic word did not come true. Is this the reason for Jonah's anger? Jonah is angry at the wrong issues. In Genesis Eve blamed the snake. Adam blamed the woman. Casting blame on the wrong issue is not new; what the Lord desires is we place blame on the right issue. The right issue is sin is out to ruin your life. Sin is out to ruin every one's life.

Jonah 4:2
So he prayed to the LORD, and said, ''Ah, LORD, was not this what I said when I was still in my country? Therefore I fled previously to Tarshish; for I know that You are a gracious and merciful God, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, One who relents from doing harm.
Listen, Jonah knew the character of God, but did he personally believe this truth? Now Jonah blames the Lord for changing His mind. For this reason, Jonah tries to justify his earlier disobedience. Jonah is trying to displace, or shift blame onto the Lord.
God is never the problem, He is our only hope!
Have you been blaming God for something in your life?
Ask the Lord to show you if you have blamed Him for something in your life.
Are you mad at the Lord for your crazy childhood?
Are you angry with the Lord over childhood ...
