Welcome
On behalf of the family, I want to welcome you today and ask that you join us as we not only mourn the loss of Katie but remember and celebrate her life as well.

Opening Prayer
Eternal God, our Heavenly Father, who loves us with an everlasting love, and can turn the shadow of death into the morning: Help us now to wait upon You with reverent and believing hearts. In the silence of this hour speak to us of eternal things, that through patience and comfort of the Scriptures we may have hope, and be lifted above our darkness and distress into the light and peace of Your presence; through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

This is an amazing passage when you look closely at it. It is a passage that reveals the heart of Christ and what he wants to do for us.

Jesus wants to give you rest for your souls
Jesus wants you to learn from Him
Jesus wants to take your burdens upon Himself

But why? Why would the One who holds the universe in the palm of His hand want to do these things for you? Because, as the passage tells us, Jesus is gentle and lowly in heart. Jesus is a servant. Jesus loves His creation and we are the crowning joy of that creation. He does these things because He loves you.
