It has been said if one has an encounter with Jesus, they are not the same anymore. If one has an encounter with the divine, something will be different if they allow the encounter to have its way.
Jacob wrestled with God at the Jabbok River, and he was never the same anymore.

Isaiah had an encounter with God in the year King Uzziah died, and he was a changed man.
Jeremiah testified that his encounter was like fire within his bones.

In the New Testament, a blind man who meets Jesus is changed. It was true of a man whose name was Saul, he meets Christ on the Damascus Road, and he is not the same.

Christ can make a difference on how you can see. He can open your eyes that you may truly see truth. He can change your perspective of life, of living, of getting to the next level of life. He can take a legalist and make him a loyalist. He can take someone who was a threat to the faith and make him become testimony to the faith.

And now, in our story today, he makes a difference in the lives of those who have been wounded, and the wound appears to be fatal. There is something powerful, penetrating, and life-changing when you encounter Christ and recognize Him.

Sergeant Jacob DeShazer was a bombardier during World War II. While bombing a city in Japan, his plane was hit by a missile. He and the crew bailed out, but were captured.
