Last week, we began a series of messages entitled, ''Authentic''. Authentic is the real deal, true, passes the test of being like the original, and it is genuine. Candidly, every person here (I believe) has a deep desire to always be authentic and never seen as inauthentic or counterfeit. Just to offer one illustration, we know that counterfeit money is worth nothing and also, if you try to use it, it will ultimately get you in trouble.
We began talking about an authentic church and defined one like this:
A Biblical church is, ''a group of Baptized believers, who have voluntarily banded together to observe the ordinances of Christ and to fulfill the Great Commandment and Great Commission.'' It is our divine calling, as the church of Jesus Christ, to be His hands and feet here on earth. We don't huddle in the house and just enjoy being together, rather, we disperse reaching, touching, loving and caring for all people. We reviewed the 10 sins of the Local church. Our commodity that we disperse is the gospel, the good news, that ''Jesus Christ changes a life'' a work of faith, turning to God.
That is THE FOUNDATION. That was last week.
I offer this, Jesus Christ changes a life. If you have received Him, He's changed YOUR LIFE. YOU'VE SET FREE. YOU'VE BEEN REDEEMED. This truth needs to be firmly planted in our heart, our minds, and our souls, because it has CHANGED OUR LIVES. If there's no change, no Christ!
Let's begin right here. Have YOU BEEN REDEEMED? Oh, preacher you know....no, I really don't. I know this place is filled with good people - people who appear to be redeemed. But you know what haunts me? Matthew 7. ''Many expecting to be saved will be lost'', those who think and have not changed? ARE YOU?
