Psalm 41:9

He was undoubtedly the most gifted military strategist of all of America's generals during the Revolutionary War. He was loved by his soldiers, and courageously led them into battle. He rallied the American troops to victory in the crucial Battle of Saratoga. This man they called the ''Black Eagle'' was so feared by the Indian allies of the British that just the rumor he was coming was enough to lift the Iroquois' siege of Fort Ticonderoga.

In 1780, he agreed to surrender West Point to the British in exchange for 6,000 pounds. However, the plot was uncovered before it fell into British hands. Thus, we do not remember him for any of his heroic actions. We know him as Benedict Arnold, the man who betrayed his country.
