When you think of Jesus what comes into your mind - miracle worker, compassion, kindness, great teacher or his death?

In the four gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, we learn about the life and ministry of Jesus. We read about his teaching, healing,
his disciples and his death for our sins. In other words, we learn about who he was and what he came to do.

In the gospels there are many stories which reveal the heart of Jesus for people, but is only one place where Jesus describes
his heart and that is in Matthew 11:28-30.

Heart
When the Bible speaks of the heart, whether it is in the Old or New
Testament it is not speaking of only our emotions, but it includes
the very essence of who we are - our affections, desires, goals
and motives - in other words our character.

Proverbs 4:23 Keep your heart with all vigilance (KJB diligence),
for from it flow the springs of life.
Our heart reveals our true character.

Hardships
Come to me - invitation to all who struggle to keep the regulations and rules which the religious leaders have put upon the people.
Jesus invites anyone can come to him instead of someone else.

Labor (KJB weary) - Gk. to work hard so you are exhausted.
Luke 5:5 Peter said, ''We have toiled all night and caught nothing.''
The implication is that they had worked hard for nothing.

Here it would be trying to do enough good so that your sins would be forgiven by God. It might mean bringing sacrifices for sin or
giving to help the poor, but it is doing something to earn God's favor so you will be accepted by him.

Heavy laden - Gk. a burden or load (Acts 27:10 cargo on a ship).
Matt. 23:4 They (scribes and Pharisees) tie up heavy burdens,
hard to bear, and lay them on people's shoulders.
