INTRO: WAITING FOR GOD

A. HAVE YOU EVER WAITED FOR GOD TO DO SOMETHING?
THAT'S A HARD PLACE FOR MOST OF US. IT IS FOR ME

1. WAITING IS SOMETHING THAT FEW OF US DO WELL.
PARTICULARLY WHEN YOU FEEL THAT YOU ARE
BEING SLIGHTED,

ILL. EMERGENCY ROOM.

1. IT MAKES YOU THINK THAT YOU ARE NOT
UNDERSTOOD, THAT YOUR NEEDS ARE NOT SEEN AS
IMPORTANT

2 TO BE MADE TO WAIT BRINGS TO US THE FEELING
OF DISHONOR; OF NOT BEING IMPORTANT, A
PRIORITY,

3. IT BRINGS TO THE SURFACE ALL OF THOSE
INSECURITIES, ISSUES OF VALUE, REJECTION. ETC.

B. DELAYS CAN MAKE US RETREAT BACK TO OUR FAILURES
AND FEARS.

1. THERE ARE THOSE TIMES WHEN YOU SAY WHY
BOTHER! IT'S NOT WORTH IT

2. IN THOSE TIMES YOU ARE GREATLY TEMPTED TO
PULL BACK. GIVE UP.

C. IT IS EVEN HARDER WHEN THAT DELAY COSTS YOU
SOMETHING PRECIOUS.

1. THE LIFE OF YOUR DAUGHTER.

1. JAIRUS THE PRESIDENT OF THE SYNAGOGUE, THE
SPIRITUAL, SOCIAL AND JUDICIAL CENTER OF THE
TOWN. HE WAS POWERFUL, HE WAS POPULAR.

2. THE SICK WOMAN ON THE FRINGE. OUTSIDE THE
SPIRITUAL, SOCIAL CIRCLE OF TOWN. ALONE.

E. WHY DOES GOD BRING THESE TWO MIRACLE TOGETHER
FOR US? NOT SO DIFFERENT

1. THEY BOTH ARE DEALING WITH SICKNESS, A
INCURABLE DISEASE

ILL. 12 YEARS; JAIRUS' DAUGHTER WAS 12 AND THE
WOMAN HAD BEEN SICK 12 YEARS.

2. BOTH CAME TO JESUS AS THEIR ONLY HOPE AND
BOTH RECEIVED THEIR MIRACLE

3. THEY BOTH RECEIVED MORE THAN THEY ASKED
FOR; WHAT THEY NEEDED.

F. LAST WEEK WE SAW THE MIRACLE FROM THE WOMAN'S
VIEW THIS WEEK WE SEE IT FROM THE FATHER'S
PERSPECTIVE.
