Psalm 91:2
There are several of you who would remember the TV show ''The Lone Ranger.'' It was a weekly series that starred a masked man dressed in white and riding a white horse whose name was Silver. He had a partner that was a Native Indian whose name was Tonto and rode the horse whose name was Scout.
The Lone Ranger series began as a radio show, and after about 10 years, it was made into a TV show. The storyline says that Tonto saved the Lone Ranger in a landslide that was a trap for him. Also, these bad men were equally aiming to do harm to Tonto. As a result of Tonto rescuing the Lone Ranger, it created a bond between the two, a relationship that was seen as friends and good guys, and an inseparable tie was formed. Because of what Tonto did for him, the two were joined together as partners.
Tonto's name for the Lone Ranger was Kemosabe. Now that name has been given various meanings according to some tribal cultures. And they're not necessarily all commendable.
But in one culture, the meaning of the name makes sense for what we saw on the screen between The Lone Ranger and Tonto.
The name means trusted friend. The name in that culture was indicative that the person was someone that they could personally put faith and trust in.
Kemosabe, the trusted one, was the friend that you could rest and put your life in their hands.

Our God is the one who has demonstrated that He is a God that you can put your life in His hands.
He's a trusted friend.

Some trust in horses, and some in chariots, but we trust in the name of our God.
There is no doubt that when David wrote that Psalm, he was comparing it to the nations that Isra ...
