IT IS TIME THAT WE REDISCOVER CHRISTMAS

are proud in their inmost thoughts. (52) He has brought down rulers from their thrones
but has lifted up the humble. (53) He has filled the hungry with good things but has sent
the rich away empty.

A. THE EXPECTATIONS WERE ENORMOUS THAT FIRST CHRISTMAS
1. Inspite of what many think CHRISTMAS WAS EXPECTED throughout the world.
NOT A SECRET!
2. History records that the prophets, sages and wise men of every known civilization
were predicting SOMETHING BIG! THE KING WAS COMING! THE GREAT KINGS
BIRTH WAS IMMINENT
ILL. THE PROPHETS OF ROME, ATHENS, EGYPT AND EVEN BABYLON (the
wisemen came from there) HAD BEEN RECEIVING SIMILAR MESSAGES FROM
HEAVEN.
(God in his grace was preparing the world)
1. HE THE GREAT KING WAS TO BE BORN AT ANY TIME. THE WORLD
NEEDED HIM AND THEY WERE EXCITED (Barclay)
2. The message was written on the walls of the towns. HE IS COMING.... PREPARE
TO MEET HIM.

LOOK FOR HIM.
B. FACT IS THAT FROM THE KINGS HOUSE TO THE TEMPLE AND TO THE
GHETTOS THERE, THEY HEARD OF HIS COMING. CHRISTMAS WAS
