INTRO: THE STRENGTH OF CHRISTMAS

A. MARY STANDS ALONE IN THE HALL OF HONOR.

1. She rightfully holds one of the highest places
in the Hall of Honor. THOSE SAINTS WHO EXCEL IN
SERVICE TO GOD.

2. THERE ARE FEW IF ANY WHO CAN MATCH HER FAITH,
SERVICE AND DEVOTION TO GOD.

3. Far too often Protestant Evangelicals do not
give her the credit and honor due her as the Mother of
Jesus. THE ONE WHO CARRIED CHRISTMAS.

4. GOD HIMSELF GIVES HONOR AND PRAISE TO MARY AS
FINDING GREAT FAVOR TO BE BLESSED AMONG WOMEN!

LUK 1:28 And having come in, the angel said to
her, "Rejoice, highly favored {one}, the Lord {is}
with you; blessed {are} you among women!" (NKJ)

B. WITHOUT HER, THERE COULD BE NO CHRISTMAS!

1. OTHERS HAVE SERVED GOD! SHE CARRIED CHRIST AND
GAVE BIRTH TO HIM.

2. there have been men who have been asked to
believe the impossible, even to sacrifice their only
son BUT ONLY MARY WAS ASKED TO HAVE HER OWN BODY CARRY
THE MESSIAH.

ILL. THE WONDER OF HER FAITH! THAT GOD COULD PLANT IN
HER A CHILD CONCEIVED BY HOLY SPIRIT.

C. MARY BREAKS SO MANY OF THE STEREOTYPES THAT WE GIVE
TO WOMEN.

1. weak? not hardly
2. fearful? no, bold courage! gladly
3. complaining? without understanding? NOT MARY.

D. SHE WAS THE HEROINE OF CHRISTMAS

1. CHRISTMAS RESTED UPON HER SHOULDERS! SHE WAS
YOUNG BUT WAS MIGHTY IN THE LORD.
2. because she believed the impossible
3. she surrendered her body to God's will.
4. she suffered without complaint.

E. HOW DID SHE DO IT? WHAT WAS HER SECRET?

1. where did she find the strength, courage,
confidence to carry Christmas?

2. FROM GOD, FROM HER FAITH

3. BUT THERE WAS SOMETHING ELSE. A SILENT
PARTNER. THE UNSUNG HERO OF CHRI ...
