Now, I don’t know about you watching at home or watching wherever you’re watching, but, it was kind of funny this week. A new friend of mine, Brian Link, who works for Servpro. has been coming to our services. And all his experience at our church has just been what we’ve been doing here. There are very few people here, and it’s basically me talking straight to you into the camera. He said on Sunday night he turned on the TV and he saw our television service. Now, the television service is from before the fire, from before shelter-in-place. He said, “Man, that was really good.” He said, “I like the way you moved around and the feel of it.” Not that he said this was bad. I didn’t take it that way, anyway, Brian, but, but it is different. It’s very different for me just talking straight ahead to you. And I am looking forward to the day that we get back together and the shelter-in-place is over and that we can come together and worship the Lord together and call on His name together.
Well, it was in the late 90’s that I started going to seminary. Actually, I got called into the ministry in the summer of 1995. I left my job. Resigned my job right at the start of the summer of 1996 and went to seminary at Southeastern Seminary. I was there a year and then my pastor, Damon Shook, who’s recently gone home to be with the Lord, called me and said, “Why don’t you come back to Champion Forest? You can work under me. I’ll give you opportunities to preach. I’ll mentor you, and you can finish up your seminary at Southwestern.” They had an extension school there in Houston. So, I said, “Okay, that would be great.” And so, I did that. It’s 96 hours to get a M.Div. It was at that time at Southwestern. So, when you’re only going to school on ...
