The discussion and debate surrounding the Critical Race Theory has moved from the campuses of colleges and universities to communities and churches across America. CRT is a hot topic in today's culture.

We hear the pros and cons discussed daily on TV networks. We read on social media why it should be taught and why it shouldn't be taught in public schools. We recently had a man drive onto our church parking lot, where he happened to find one of our church staff leaders. He lowered his car window and asked, ''Can you tell me First Baptist's position on the Critical Race Theory?''

Weather it's an individual or a church or some other organization, their position on CRT is ultimately determined by one basic issue: their worldview. Everyone has a worldview. What is a worldview, and does it really matter?

According to Del Tackett in his article, WHAT'S A CHRISTIAN WORLDVIEW, ''a personal worldview is a combination of all you believe to be true, and what you believe becomes the driving force behind every emotion, decision and action. Therefore, it affects your response to every area of life; from philosophy to science, theology and anthropology to economics, law, politics, are and social order - everything.''

When was the last time you had an eye examination? I recently had one in preparation for my cataract surgery. (I am getting old!) Once my eyes were dilated, they moved the phoropter, which contains different lenses to determine your prescription, in front of my face. You know the routine. As you look through a lens, they give you two options and ask, ''is it clearer here or here?'' Until finally, the lens is selected giving you perfect vision.
