I Want to Know What Love Is (2 of 5)
Series: The Greatest of These Is Love

1st Corinthians 13:4-7
If you have your Bible, please turn to First Corinthians, chapter 3. We started a series just a couple of weeks ago. Debbie and I were out last week in Branson. Chris did a wonderful job in my absence. We want to continue in this series that we began. We're calling it The Greatest of These is Love. It's from First Corinthians 13:13, ''Now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.'' First Corinthians 13 is a well-known chapter in the Bible. We call it the ''love chapter'' because the theme of the chapter, just 13 verses, but the theme of the chapter is love. Mary Ann, who is only four-years-old said this: ''Love is when your puppy licks your face, even after you left him alone all day.'' I remember Dr. Shields in our church; he's in heaven now; he told me, ''Jeff, I think God created dogs to teach us about unconditional love.'' I think that might be true. Noel, aged seven, said this: What is love? ''Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, and then he wears it every day.'' Ladies, we will do that if you tell us something like that. Tommy, aged six, said this: ''Love is like a little old man and a little old woman who are still friends, even after they know each other so well.'' That's very sweet. Chris, age seven, said this: ''Love is when mommy sees daddy, smelly and sweaty, and still says he's more handsome than Brad Pitt.'' Loren, age four, ''I know my older sister loves me because sh ...
