Esther 1

SUMMARY: In this message we explore how Esther chapter one emphasizes the kingship of God in these ways: 1) King of Resources, 2) King of Love, 3) King of the world.

INTRODUCTION: ''The Man in the Iron Mask'' was an unidentified prisoner who was arrested in 1670 and subsequently held in a number of French prisons for 34 years keeping his face covered the entire time. One of the theories of the prisoner's identity was put forth by Alexandre Dumas who suggested he was Philippe, the ''good'' twin brother of the not-so-good King Louis XIV. This theory was dramatized in the movie ''The Man in the Iron Mask''. In the movie, the good twin Philippe (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) is rescued from prison and secretly challenges his bad brother Louis, also played by Leonardo DiCaprio, for the throne of France.
