92%. That’s the percentage of people in America that will get married in their lifetime. 92%. Which means that the vast majority of people are going to be joined together in matrimony… but here’s the crazy thing… Research shows that most people that get married have no idea what the ingredients are for a great marriage.

If you were to ask the question, “What is the key ingredient to a Gold-Medal Marriage?” … you’d get all kinds of responses. People would say… HAPPINESS… SECURITY… COMPATIBILITY… CHEMISTRY…
What would you answer be?

Remember, God created marriage and HE is the one who created the blueprints for a great marriage. And the blueprint of God’s word tells us that the key ingredient for a Gold-Medal Marriage is… INTIMACY.

In Genesis chapters 2 and 3, we see that demonstrated in the relationship between Adam and Eve. If you’ll remember, in the beginning Adam was all alone.
He had a place to live (2:8) 8 The Lord God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there he placed the man he had formed.
He had a job (2:15) 15 The Lord God took the man and placed him in the garden of Eden to work it and watch over it.
He had guidelines to live by (2:16-17) 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree of the garden, 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for on the day you eat from it, you will certainly die.”
He had open fellowship with God –He was God’s prized creation and he was living in relationship with Him.

So, in the beginning, it appeared as if Adam had everything he needed… but then God gave Adam the assignment of naming the animals and he realized he was lacking something. (v. 20) says, 20 The man gave names to all the livestock, to the birds of the sky, and to every wild animal; but for the man no helper was found corresponding to him.
