Philippians 4:1-3
How seriously do you take your singing? How important is it
to you that people sing on key? In November 1991 at the East Second Street Christian Church in Lexington, KY Naomi Parker
and Demetrius Moore got into an argument about which one of them was singing off-key at the choir rehearsal.
As the church service started the choir members were marching into the sanctuary for the opening hymn, but Naomi and Demetrius remained behind arguing. Witnesses said Naomi pulled a bottle of drain cleaner from her coat pocket and threw it into the face of Demetrius. She was taken to the hospital where she was treated for burns to her face, neck and chest.
Five others church members were also splashed but were not seriously injured by the drain cleaner. The caustic liquid burned through the carpet and even scarred a wooden door. Naomi ran out of the church and police found her a short time later as she was walking home. She was charged with first-degree assault and was
held in jail on $7,500 bail.

What is a conflict? It is an emotional collision between two people who see something differently. A conflict occurs when there is competition between individuals who each believe they are right.
The greater the tension the stronger the conflict. The stronger
the personality the greater the chance that there will be conflict.
When facing conflict, we need to remember:
• We all come from different backgrounds.
• Nobody agrees with everyone all the time.
• What is important to one person is not to another.
• Everyone is not on the same spiritual level.
