A Know-So Salvation

I John 5:5-13
Take God's Word and turn with me please to I John 5:5. Now, what I want to speak to you about today is certainty and surety. That is, how we can know that we know that we are saved.
Now, I was in a hospital a while back and I was witnessing to a lady. She had not yet given her heart to the Lord Jesus Christ, and the doctor said she did not have long to live. So I asked her if she knew the Lord Jesus, and she said, ''no'' she didn't. I asked her ''would you like to know Christ?'' She said, ''I surely would.'' I took God's Word and showed her how she could trust Christ. I said to him, ''Isn't it wonderful that she has been saved? ''Oh,'' he said, ''No one can know that they are saved.'' I said, ''Oh, but if a person will trust Christ, they can know that they are saved.'' He said, ''No, no one can know that they are saved.''

It says, ''These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God that ye may hope that ye have eternal life.'' No, well, let me try it again. ''These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God that ye may think that you have eternal life.'' ''These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God that ye may surmise that ...
