Today's question in our study of John's gospel is quite simple. Does the Lord Jesus ever change His mind about His love for one of His people? Is He a fickle lover and a fair-weather friend? Does He fall in and out of love like a middle school girl?

Once Jesus purchases a soul, does He ever do a return? Does He ever change His mind, want His money back, and undo the purchase?

Stated simply, ''Once Jesus saves someone, can they ever be lost again? Or are they eternally secure in their salvation from Jesus?''

Being saved is one of the greatest things that a person can ever experience. In fact, there may only be 2 things better than being saved. KNOWING with bedrock assurance that you are saved and then KNOWING with assurance that you are saved and will never again be lost.

Many do not believe in this doctrine and my purpose is not to offend.
In fact, if you don't believe it, I can relate. Your story is MY story.

Eternal security is not a Baptist doctrine. It is a Bible doctrine.

There are 2 key misunderstandings of this great doctrine.
1. Some people simply think you can lose your salvation.
2. Some who embrace this doctrine seem to think it gives license.

John 20:31 - ''But these have been written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and believing, you may have life in His name.''

Today's question is this: Once you believe on Jesus and receive life in His name, is it possible to ever again be lost and spiritually dead?

1. Did you experience actual salvation?

The doctrine of eternal security is only for God's true sheep.

Not everyone who says, ''B-a-a-a!'' is a sheep.
Not everyone who is covered with white wool is a sheep.

Matthew 7:15 Jesus talked about false prophets ''...who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.''

Now everyone in sheep's clothing may not be a wolf, but everyon ...
