John 7:37-52
Jesus Christ is the Living Water. And tonight I want to continue our discussion of the best water man ever received. Earlier in this chapter, Jesus was in the temple teaching during the Feast of Booths. He so enraged the religious leaders that they sent the in-house security team to take Him by force. In tonight's text they return without Him and justify their actions by saying, ''Never man ever spoke like this Man.''
Their reaction is just one of several in this text. In fact there are so many people talking here it seems like a middle school lunchroom. But the most important words that were spoken were spoken by our Lord.
What was it Jesus said that, humanly speaking, caused Him to avoid being arrested that day? What captured their attention and caused the religious security detail to stand down?
The answer is as refreshing as a cool drink on a hot day.
If any man is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink...
If tonight's message had been a stand-alone message, I would call it,
''If everyone is thirsty, why doesn't everyone drink?''
But as such it's the 2nd portion of the morning message on ''Living Water for a Thirsty Soul.''
What is required to drink this water and why wouldn't everyone want it?
1. A passionate desire for Jesus (37a-37b)
We noted the context, the contrast, and the condition.
So this great promise begins with Jesus saying, ''If anyone thirsts...''
A ittle boy typically stalled at bedtime. Daddy will you bring me some water? The Daddy replied, ''If you don't go to sleep I'm coming in there to give you a spanking.'' The boy replied, ''When you come will you bring me some water?''

The Feast of Booths had a major emphasis on water.
Against that backdrop, Jesus made profound statement...
''If any man is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, ...
