Jesus Christ is indeed glorious and victorious. He is our God!
Turn to John 7. I want to bring a good message to you today. One of the challenges of preaching through Bible books is that some passages are more interesting than others but we can’t and shouldn’t skip them.
I don’t want to be like the new pastor of a country church. He had a member who always brought his bird dog with him to church. The new pastor had never seen such. When he saw the dog, he shooed the dog out of the church. Everyone waited to see what would happen. The old codger said, “Preacher thank you for running out my dog. I am so glad he didn’t have to sit and listen to that sorry sermon!”
This is the 25th lesson and today we’re going to be talking about water.
Water is perhaps one of the most important commodities we have.
Ask the farmer if water is important.
Ask the marathon runner if water is important.
Talk to the football coaches and ask if water is important.
The American people have a love affair with water…that substance that used to be free now takes nearly 12B of our US dollars every year. In order to justify this multi-billion obsession we now have gourmet and custom versions of…water. We have:
Spring water, mineral water, and power water
Energy water and earth water
Flavored water and fitness water
Distilled water and Deja Blue water
Then there’s sugar free, diet Sprite Zero…also known as…water.
Science tells us most people could survive several weeks without food. It wouldn’t be very much fun but it could be done. But the average human being cannot survive more than about 3 days without water.
But the water we’re talking about today is even more critical. It’s so vital that if you haven’t tasted it yet, you’re not even REALLY alive. And you won’t become ALIVE until you drink it. And then…once you drink it, not only will y ...
