Obey Why (20 of 35)
Series: Obey Everything
Steve Jones
Matthew 7:24-26

SERMON SUMMARY: This sermon addresses Jesus' command to build your life on the solid rock of his teachings. We look at the ''Why'' of ''Obey Everything'' under three headings. 1) Because Jesus has the authority. 2) Because obedience lays a foundation. 3) Because the ''storm'' is coming.

INTRODUCTION: How many of you are the OLDER sibling in your family. When your parents left to go out and they left YOU in charge and you told your little brother or sister what to do - and they didn't want to do it - what did they say to you? ''You're not the BOSS. If you do NOT do what I tell you to do, you're a fool.'' I don't do that. I have to qualify what I say with all kinds of ''weasel words.'' For instance, I'll say, ''If I understand what the Bible is teaching here then blah, blah, blah.'' ''I might be wrong about this but ...
