Jesus Changes Everything (7 of 75)
Series: The Gospel of John

John 2:1-11
JESUS CHRIST changes everything. And because He's changed my life and I know He wants to change yours, my desire today is to take the Word of God and simply preach the Lord Jesus, crucified, buried, and risen from the dead.
Our Bibles are open to John chapter 2 as we continue with the 7th lesson in our study of John entitled, ''iBelieve.'' Having spent 6 lessons introducing this fourth gospel record and dissecting chapter 1 we are now going to be picking up the pace. Most of our remaining chapters will be covered in 2-3 messages each. We are not going to be examining the minute details of each verse, as important as they are. My purpose in this series is to get us to ''zoom out'' and see the BIG PICTURE.
As we begin to examine the SECOND chapter of the FOURTH gospel I want us to see Jesus commencing His public ministry. And in the performance of His very first miracle we see a graphic and glorious illustration of who Jesus is and why Jesus came.
As I contemplated this text and what it reveals about the Lord Jesus, I was reminded of a well-loved poem called ''The Touch of the Master's Hand.''

''What am I bid, good people'', he cried,
''Who starts the bidding for me?''
''One dollar, one dollar, Do I hear two?''
''Two dollars, who makes it three?''
''Three dollars once, three dollars twice,
Going for three,'' But, No,
From the back of the room a gray bearded man
Came forward and picked up the bow
Then wiping the dust from the old violin
And tightening up the strings,
He played a melody, pure and sweet
As sweet as the angel sings.
The music ceased and the auctioneer spoke
With a voice that was quiet and low,
''What now am I bid for this old violin?''
As he held it aloft with its bo ...
