DESCRIPTION - Ps.116:15 ''Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.''
In this funeral sermon we look at four ways in which the death of a saint is precious in the eyes of God: 1) Saint, 2) Servant, 3) Student 4) Sweetheart
I. PRECIOUS BECAUSE HE WAS A SAINT
Rom.1:7 ''To all who are beloved of God in Rome, called as SAINTS.''
I Cor. 1:2 ''To the church of God in Corinth, saints by calling''
Eph.1:1 ''To the saints who are at Ephesus''
Every CHRISTIAN is a ''saint'' in the eyes of God. Our brother was a saint, not because he lived a perfect life, but because he had believed in Jesus, repented of his sins, confessed Jesus as Lord and been baptized into Christ. Therefore, the righteousness of Christ was imputed to his account. His sins were washed away. He lived with the indwelling gift of the Holy Spirit and the promise of eternal life which he is now enjoying with Jesus in Paradise.
II. PRECIOUS BECAUSE HE WAS A SERVANT
Mt.23:11 ''The greatest of you will be your servant.''
Our brother was precious to God because he was a SERVANT. He visited our church in February of 2018. He placed membership in September of 2018. In short order he had joined two ministry teams and a life group. Some Christians attend a church for decades and never seem to find a place to serve. This brother found places to serve right away because he had a SERVANT'S HEART. That is precious in the sight of the Lord.
