We are now coming to the end of an era, in this chapter we will see the death of Noah, the father of all who were born on this side of the flood. He is the last link to the old pre-flood patriarchs. He did not live while Adam was alive, but his father did and the stories of old had been passed down to him, as he passed them down to his sons.
When Noah boarded that ark the world was overflowing with people, but when he exited the ark, the world was wide open, vacant, and free of people. Noah and his family could have walked in any direction and never came across the path of another living human being or creature.
It would have been one of the oddest moments in the history of mankind to see Noah and his family standing upon the face of the new world. God had chosen Noah to be the bridge from the old world to the new world. This was one of the greatest men to have ever lived; he was a rose among thorns as God deemed him to the chosen link.
In today's study we will see God changing the way that mankind will live, he will institute guidelines for living, for reproduction, for being allowed to eat meat for the first time, and the importance of capital punishment. The world will never govern itself and anyone that takes a human life will end up having their own life taken, a life for a life.
God will also set a bow up in the clouds that he can see after bad weathered occurred upon the earth. The bow was not set there so much for the benefit of man, but as a reminder to God to never totally destroy all of creation.
