ILLUS. - Do you like road trips? - The one thing about living in CFL is that to go anywhere ... other than FL... you have to spend a day driving unless you fly. - When I think about doing a cross country trip to see the Grand Canyon or Mt. Rushmore, etc. I think... well it will take me the better part of a day to get to Mississippi! But road trips can be fun. But they can also be TIRING. They can be DANGEROUS. There are challenges.

The Christian life is a bit like a road trip. We are on a way to a destination, we have left something behind and are traveling... but we have yet to get there. By God's grace we are sure to get there. - In this world we experience God's grace, but this world is broken. The NH andE... this ain't it!

If I say, ''Jesus is on the throne!'' You say, ''AMEN!'' But do you ever go... then why are things so hard, so bad, so rough.

A tension we live in is the ''Already - Not yet.'' - Believers are assured of Heaven and final salvation, but we have not yet entered Heaven, and we are still being matured. God is in control, Christ is seated, reigning in authority, but we do not yet see the full ramifications of that. - Christ's Kingdom has been INAUGURATED but not yet CONSUMMATED.

In this world it's easy to get frustrated, down, discouraged. A major theme of the book as to continue on with Jesus, holding to Him.

In Heb. 2:5-18 the author continues with how Jesus is superior, better than the angels, He continues to point us to Jesus. Today, we see the importance of SEEING JESUS ... not literally but spiritually, beholding Him for Who and all He is... during this season of already, not yet.
