Over the last few weeks we've been looking at a series of messages called The Best is Yet to Come. We've been looking at the book of Isaiah, and we'll continue today.

As I was thinking about our passage this morning, I was reminded of all the things that come and go in fads and fashions, and things that are hip and cool today. Have you ever thought about this: Things that are hip and cool today are not so hip and cool tomorrow? Things are always changing.

I used to have a PDA. Do you even know what that is -- Personal Digital Assistant? You could put your contacts and your email in it, your to-do list, and a few other things, but it was not a phone. I would carry a PDA in one pocket and a cell phone in another pocket. PDAs were cool. They were so hip. But today, nobody has a PDA. They're obsolete.

iPods-I still love my iPod, but most people don't use them anymore. They use their phone. It was hip then. It's not hip now. How about a fanny pack? Back in the day, people loved fanny packs. I wanted to wear a fanny pack up here today, and pull my Bible out, and preach to you.

I was standing out in the hallway, looking at the timeline of our church, and one of our seventh graders was standing beside me. The timeline had a picture of our first Bible study, in 2009. She looked at the picture, and she looked at me, and she said, ''What's wrong with your hair?'' She said, ''Promise me, you will never wear your hair that way again.'' I said, ''In 2009, that was happening, sister. Come on. It was awesome. I worked hard to get my hair like that.''

Some of us downloaded music from napster.com, and then we found out it was illegal. Nobody' ...
