It is a privilege to be with you tonight. Aren't you grateful for Sing Oldham, who has labored in love to coordinate these Bivocational Pastors and Wives Banquets across the state of Tennessee. Sing's departure from the Executive Committee of the SBC was their loss and the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board's gain!

I'm praying for God to use our time together to renew and refresh us all! In fact, did you know that by being here tonight that you're being like Jesus? Well, you are. It wasn't uncommon for Jesus to get away for times of refreshing and I commend you for following His example! If Jesus needed to get away from time to time, how much more do we need to?

I heard about a church member that was upset with the pastor because he had tried all week to get hold of him without success. Well, the pastor had taken a few days off without getting it okayed by this particular member. So, Sunday came and with it the long-awaited confrontation.

The man said, ''Pastor, I've been trying to reach you all week and couldn't find you.''

The pastor smiled and said, ''Well, that's because I took a few days off to be refreshed and renewed.''

The man said, ''You took a few days off? The Devil doesn't take any days off.''

The Pastor said, ''Well, if I didn't take a few days off, then I'd be just like the Devil.''

My prayer for you tonight is to be refreshed and renewed and ready to get back into the battle!
