Intro/Attention

It’s only four Sundays until Easter. I know that’s hard for you to believe. But Easter will be here before you know it. Over the next three weeks we’re going be in a very important series. Every year I pick one word that I want to focus on for the entire year. This year, the word was “rebuild.” I have no doubt that God put that on my heart.

So, the name for this series is Rebuild: reignite, reconnect, reengage. That’s what we’re doing after a global pandemic. We are rebuilding. Of course, we’re not talking about buildings. We’re talking about people.

Today, I want us to focus on one important step in the rebuilding process: Reignite Your Passion for Worship. During “shelter in place” we weren’t even able to meet for worship. Our volunteer teams were decimated. Some people who were serving just checked out and quit. But you’re here. And I’m grateful to God for each of you. Because with the people that God is sending our way, He is going to accomplish an incredible rebuilding effort. It starts with a passion for worship. What I mean is, a passion to come to church and gather with the people of God.

Here in Psalm 66, we read about someone who was excited and passionate about praising God and gathering with God’s people. READ 1-5, 16-20
