The church building where I received Christ as my Savior burned to the ground a few years after I was saved and was relocated to the south end of our county. I remember walking into that church on Sunday morning October 14th and getting up out of my pew as a last sinner and returning as a saved person.
The church had its Charter Member Service on Saturday night October 6th and my wife's family went that night, she was my high school sweetheart at the time. We went to Sunday School at one church that morning and then drove all the way across the county to Old Fashion Baptist and there I got saved.
Those were some of the most precious days in my life. I lived at that church; you could find me there all the time. I was there working, cleaning, helping to remodel, and if I wasn't at church, I was with my pastor. He treated me like the son he never had and I thought of him like the type of father I wanted.
We had midweek service on Thursday night and on the other four days of the week; my pastor was teaching us how to be a soul winner. It was a life changing experience for me as I gave it my all to learn how to witness to people. In a matter of time, I was able to lead my wife's (girlfriend) best friend to the Lord. I had never been able to do that and it was an unbelievable moment.
The church went for months on end seeing people saved in every service and having people join the church in every service. We were in a real Holy Ghost heaven sent revival and were seeing lives changed. The church had community and fellowship with ...
