The Root that Bears the Fruit

Job 19:28


Man came back from hike. Skinned head to toe. Told his wife, ''I met a snake on the trail.'' Wife said, ''They told us that these snakes aren't poisonous.'' He said, ''They don't have to be poisonous when they make you jump off a 20 foot cliff.''

2 things come to mind when I read the book of Job.
1) Why do Godly Suffer?
2) Why does God seem Silent?

For many chapters, Job asked those questions.
The DISASTER that TOOK His FORTUNE
The DEATH that TOUCHED His FAMILY
The DISEASE that TORMENTED His FLESH
The DECEPTION that TURNED His FRIENDS
The DEVIL that TEMPTED His FAITH

Somehow Job was able to keep on
WALKING - WORKING - WITNESSING - WORSHIPPING

''the root of the matter is found in me.''

He tells his friends, the real question you need to ask is, ''Why are we persecuting Job when the ROOT of his faith is not going to be shaken.''

The reason for Job's FRUIT is because of his ROOT. He has planted his roots of faith deep in the soil of the promises of God.

1) The Root of SOVEREIGN AWARENESS

A) The FAILURE of His LOVES (13-19)

He has lost EVERYONE/EVERYTHING he has ever loved.
FAMILY - FRIENDS - FAMILIARS - All Gone

B) The FAITHFULNESS of His LORD (1-9)

Job questioned the PURPOSE of God but never challenged the PROVIDENCE of God
