During the civil war Abraham Lincoln met with a group of ministers for a prayer breakfast. One of the ministers said, ''Mr. President, let us pray that God is on our side''. Lincoln's response showed far greater insight, ''No, gentlemen, let us pray that we are on God's side.''
Do you remember when you were in school, or maybe at a pick-up game, a captain would pick who he wanted to be on his team? One by one, he would start at the top and work his way down. By the time the picks were over, usually one side was much stronger than the other side.

God was ready to wipe them out because of how they had rebelled against His standard. Moses intervenes with a PLEA - PETITION - PRAYER - WHO IS ON THE LORD'S SIDE?

They have sinned against God, and sin must be dealt with. Payment must be made to atone.

It's not important WHAT He wrote, the only thing that matters is that He was STILL WRITING. Her story wasn't over. He was still writing because He was going to Calvary in a few days, and sin would be paid for.
