Can Jesus Have Your Lunch?

John 6:11
I read about the preacher that announced that the next Sunday he was going to preach on Noah and his Ark. The next Sunday he got up to read his text not knowing that some boys had glued some of the pages of his Bible together. He began to read, ''Noah took unto himself a wife and she was,'' he turned the page and continued to read, ''three hundred cubits long, fifty cubits wide, and thirty cubits high.'' He paused and then read it again. He then looked up and said, ''You know, I have been studying the Bible for almost fifty years, but there are still some things in that are hard to believe.''
Feeding of 5000 one of my favorite stories - Still hard to believe!
Teacher sat glass of water/whiskey. Put worms in each glass. Worms swam around in water; curled up and died in whiskey. Asked class what lesson they learned. Little boy said, ''If you've got worms, drink some whiskey.''
DON'T MISS THE POINT OF THE MIRACLE!! Not about PHYSICAL bread - about SPIRTUAL bread - ''I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE!''
INDICTS a LACK of Faith
Philip saw the COST
Andrew saw the CROWD
INSPIRES a LIFE of Faith
Lad saw the CHRIST
1) EMBRACING God's WILL for Your Life!
(5-7) Philip pulls out his calculator to count the cost of what it would take to feed all these people. He concluded that ½ year worth of wages was not enough.
Philip reminds us of those who constantly at budgets, bank accounts, weekly offerings, and financial statements and say ''It can't be done!''
God is NOT CONFINED/CONTROLLED by budgets, bank accounts, buildings, business
(6) ''And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.''
Even before Jesus asked the question, He already knew how Philip would respond. Even before Andrew brought the little lad to Jesus, He already knew He was in the crowd, and that his lunch consisted of 5 loaves and 2 fishes.
