What Is Keeping You From Applying God's Word? (2 of 4)
Series: Underwater
Jeff Geyer
Jonah 1:17; 2:1-10
Big Idea:
Our disobedience can never outrun nor overpower God's grace. A follower of Jesus is not only a receiver of grace but a product of grace.
Intro:
Have you ever been underwater? More specifically, have you ever been submerged or experience flooding? We'll dive into a story of a man who was underwater literally, emotionally, and spiritually. We'll learn how God is actually in control of our lives even when we are underwater. We'll learn how to get to the surface and experience peace in our relationship with God and others.
Each week we'll cover a chapter in the true story of Jonah.

This applies to parents, teachers, coaches, leaders in the military, managers/bosses, and spouses...pretty much everyone listening/watching.
How do you want to respond?
Lash out (email, text, call, meeting)
Get angry (emotionally charged)
Punish (fire, suspend, bench, detention, sit out)
Can't stop thinking about it (conversations in your mind)
Boundaries (you're re-reading the book)
We'll discover as we walk through the second chapter of Jonah that our disobedience can ...
