What Is Something About God You Struggle With? (3 of 4)
Series: Underwater

Jonah 3:1-10
Big Idea:
Our disobedience can never outrun nor overpower God's grace. A follower of Jesus is not only a receiver of grace but a product of grace.
Intro:
Have you ever been underwater? More specifically, have you ever been submerged or experience flooding? We'll dive into a story of a man who was underwater literally, emotionally, and spiritually. We'll learn how God is actually in control of our lives even when we are underwater. We'll learn how to get to the surface and experience peace in our relationship with God and others.
Each week we'll cover a chapter in the true story of Jonah.
Our first week in chapter 1, we talked how disobedience always starts with a choice. We discovered as we walked through the first chapter of Jonah that disobedience leads to descent and depression and comes with collateral damage. Yet no matter how far you are from God grace is always available.
Last week in chapter 2, we learned that that our disobedience can never outrun or overpower God's grace. We'll find that a follower of Jesus is not only a receiver of grace but a product of grace.
This week in chapter 3, we find Jonah arriving in Nineveh. After everything he experienced so far in this true story, he reluctantly obeyed and preached a heartless message. We'll see how the people of Nineveh respond to a five-word sermon from a reluctant prophet, who wanted their city to burn.
Tension:

So I reluctantly stepped up, firmly held the shotgun, took a breathe, aimed, took another breathe, and sho ...
