How many of you know what March 9th is? It is national ''Get Over it Day.'' It was started by a man named Jeff Goldblatt, an Atlanta resident, who at the time was struggling to get over an ex-girlfriend and he recognized it was a universal concept that people could relate to because we all struggle to get over something whether it is an ex-boyfriend or girlfriend, work-related issues, fears, insecurities or embarrassing moments.
On the website They have a purpose and perspective poem that colorfully expresses the sentiments of this day. They provide a video playlist that will help you in your effort to get over it, whatever it is. And, if you're not sure what ''it'' is they encourage you to ask your family and friends what they are tired of hearing you complain about because that will be whatever ''it'' is.
They also make this amazingly generous offer. ''If you email us and tell us what you're getting over, we will print your email and shred it! Not metaphorical shredding - we literally bought a paper-shredder just for this purpose! :)''
If only it were that easy!!
Life is full of problems, problems and if we are to endure, get beyond and find victory over, we need more than a paper shredder and pat on the back. Paul, in our passage today, shows us where that help can be found.
