(TEXT CALL) The call to ''Being what Jesus died for'' has taken us on a journey where we have connected the dots of church and spiritual effectiveness for the New Testament church. This is laying the groundwork for where we anticipate God leading us in the days ahead.

When you take a trip, if the way is unfamiliar or unknown, you must chart the course. If you go a place where you have never gone, you need a map or GPS to direct you. I'd even say that if you go a place you haven't been in a while, you may need some help. For instance, 45+ years ago, for 7 or 8 months, I came here every week. But because I hadn't been here in a while, 16 months ago I kept my GPS on until I drove in because, there were a couple turns that I had backwards. When you don't travel a road regularly, it's easy to forget.

Over our last 7 weeks we have talked about prayer leading to worship, worship leading to evangelism (invitation), evangelism leading to discipleship, discipleship leading to fellowship (Koinonia), and fellowship leading to ministry. Now, let end with a summation of what happens when we connect all these dots and actually ''Become What Jesus Died for us to be.'' It is something called ''Mission'' which leads to 'Missions.'

Would it shock you to know that the ''Mission'' or ''Missions'' are not necessarily Biblical words? Depending on the translation, the word is either not used or is used sparingly in scripture. But the concept runs deep in scripture. Like the word ''Trinity.'' It's nowhere in scripture but the concept clearly taught in the Bible. Let's read our first text.
