A couple weeks ago, I was in Kenya, Africa in the middle of the Serengeti.
Overwhelmed by God's creation.
Animals. Landscape of Africa.
I was reminded of Genesis... the Creation account... God said it's good!
In church we talk a lot about the presence of God... and the reality of God... and sometimes we forget that... not only has God been around since the Garden of Eden in Genesis chapter 1... the Devil has been here as well.
Satan has been here since the very beginning. And SINCE the beginning....
The devil has worked hard to make good things bad... and bad things good.
Your Descriptive terms for the devil?
Red suit... pointy horns... tail... pitchfork... ugly... (which is interesting because when he was created by God, before the fall, the Lord said he was the most beautiful creature ever created)...
Jesus had some descriptive words for him as well.
Thief
Liar
Deceiver
god of this age
Ruler of this world...
He's a serpent
He's like a roaring lion.
(1 Peter 5:8) ''The devil is prowling around like a roaring lion looking for anyone he can devour''
ROARING LION-watched a lion walk right by our vehicle. Heard it breathing. VIDEO of lion walking beside our vehicle and then a Picture next to yellow vehicle
At one point, we got a little too close and the lion roared! I asked our guide WHY she roared like that!?! Our guide David said in his African accent, ''Lions only roar when they're very serious.''
(1 Peter 5:8) ''The devil is prowling around like a roaring lion looking for anyone he can devour'' You know what that tells me?
The devil takes his job VERY SERIOUS!
According to the Bible... The devil only has 3 goals on this earth... (John 10:10) says the thief only comes to kill, steal and destroy.
Kill-physically and spiritually
Steal-your joy, hope, love, peace, faith, eternity
Destroy-like a lion destroys its prey, the devil wants to destroy us.
