Ephesians 5:1
''Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children...'' Ephesians 5:1 (NIV)
(As we continue through our series in Ephesians I want to remind you of where we have come so far...1st Paul reminds us who we are as we have been Created by the Father, Redeemed by the Son and Sealed by the Holy Spirit. Then we were taught that we were Reconciled/made right with God so we could make right with each other and be the Church/Family God intends us to be, 3rd we have come to realize that God saved us to carry out our ministry then last week (thanks Bob for a great job) we came to realize that carrying out our ministry is related to our maturity and carried out in love. This week, week 5 we now move to how we, as children of God, are to live, how we are to walk in a way that represents our place as God's Kids. First, let's pray...)
- Walk in LOVE
''Live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.''
(I want you to stop right now and think with me...are there people in your life that are hard to love, are there people that if you were on fire, would probably go out and buy a gallon of gasoline :) be honest...now raise your hand and tell us who they are...no, stop just kidding...here is my point, if Jesus loved us, despite us, how/why are we to love others...so that we can become more like Jesus...here is what Paul says about that...
1. Love by our ACTIONS toward others
''But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people.''
(These sins mentioned here are related to how we treat others. All of these things mentioned involves someone else, relates to how we either sin with someone or toward someone...all of these areas of sin are in regards to our selfish actions t ...
